End of season dinner and presentation night

The end of season dinner and presentation night, jointly organised by Kildare County FC and the Supporters Club, which was held at Toghers Belfry Ballroom, Newhall on Friday turned out to be a resounding success.

The large attendance of supporters and well wishers got the chance to discuss the season just ended with the players from the senior and under 21 squads and they partied till late following the dinner and presentations, with DJ Barry Dempsey supplying the music and fun.

Director Michael Casey, addressing the gathering, said it was now time to put the disappointment of just failing to gain promotion behind and to look to the future with confidence and renewed hope. He thanked the players for their commitment and the management for their efforts, pointing to the many great performances of the team including the great win over Bohs in the FAI cup.

The supporters, who followed the side throughout the Country where thanked for their loyalty through the good and bad times.

Supporters club chairman Steve Taylor thanked the players and club for the great enjoyment that Eircom League football had brought the followers and referred to the rapport between the club and supporters, which will see County go from strength to strength.

He also thanked all who had supported and sponsored the various functions organised by the KCSC.

Highlight of the night was a fabulous Michael Jackson impersonation by a County team member, who would probably prefer to remain anonymous.
