County hope to break Harp's run

Seventeen league games have elapsed since Kildare County overcame Harps on a 1-0 scoreline at Station Road back on 21st April last. Incredibly the Ballybofey side have only lost once since then, when they went done 2-0 at home to Cobh Ramblers in late May.

They currently occupy third place in the table five points adrift of leaders Cobh Ramblers. County manager John Ryan believes that Harps are the best team in the league and that his charges face a stern test on Saturday night.

Ryan also hopes that County don’t face a backlash from the Donegal side following their exit from the third round of the Ford FAI Cup at the hands of Derry City last week.

The County squad is fully fit, with captain Philip Byrne ready to make a comeback following a layoff of several weeks.

Unfortunately Alan McDermott has found it impossible due to work commitments to continue his involvement with the club and has been released. All at the club wish Alan  the best for the future and thank him for his dedication to County during his term here.
